Course preparation guide

Techna Center, LLC conducts technical training courses with one goal in mind: help you learn web and software skills fast and efficiently. The truth is we cannot achieve this goal without your help. We need your help in each training session you attend. Learning is all about putting forth your best effort. To help you get started and succeed, we have the following points for your review. If you have attended a school or training session recently, these tips may be familiar to you; nonetheless, we encourage you to review this information before attending a class.

Attendance

Your attendance is highly recommended and expected.

If you arrive late or leave early, not only you will miss the training but may also interrupt others. Therefore, please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to start of the class and stay to the end. Also, please plan to attend each and every class.

In the event you have to miss the class, you can reschedule. For a successful completion of a class, you must attend all class sessions in their entirety.

Participation

There may be in-class discussions from time to time and your participation in such discussions will be very helpful to the mastery of the material. Put simply, if you have a question and don't ask, you won't learn. We encourage every student to ask questions or make comments, while minimizing interruptions to others. If during the class you have a question or comment, please raise your hand and wait to be recognized to ask a question or make a comment.

Assignments

If there are any assignments, it is advisable to put a significant effort into completing them. The assignments will measure your mastery of the material and help you learn what needs further attention. Assignments should be completed and submitted, as directed, before or by the due date. To support your answers, please submit your code as well as the output.

If there is any assigned reading, please complete this task before you come to the class. Each student is expected to discuss the reading assignment in the class.

Examination

If noted, otherwise, all of our courses come with an online exam. The exam must be taken after the class is over. You have 45 days, after the last day of the course, to take the exam.

Course supplies

Our training sessions take place in a computer lab so it is not necessary for you to bring your own laptop.

Computer lab

Students are expected to treat the training computer equipment with care. Please observe the following restrictions in respect to the use of the computer lab:

  • You may only use the computer assigned to you
  • No documents, software, or any files may be downloaded to any computer in the lab without the trainer's approval.
  • No software may be installed on any computer in the lab without the trainer's approval.
  • No food or drink are allowed in the computer lab

Cell phones and other mobile devices

All cell phones and other mobile devices must either be turned off or set to a silent or vibrating mode. If you must answer a phone call, please leave the computer lab.

Communication

Feel free to contact the trainer by his/her email address. If you email, please remember to specify the course title in the subject line or in the body of the message. Please be patient for a response. The trainer will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Disturbance

If you disrupt the class, you will be asked to leave the computer lab.
